OpenAI has officially announced the release and phased availability expansion of the GPT-5.6 model family. The new series includes three models: GPT-5.6 Sol, GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-5.6 Luna, designed for tasks of different complexity.
According to the company, GPT-5.6 Sol is the new flagship model designed for solving complex problems in programming, scientific research and cyber security. Terra is a balanced model designed for everyday work tasks, while Luna is the fastest and most efficient version of the series, focused on low-cost work.
At the same time, OpenAI introduced the ChatGPT Work agent platform, which combines the capabilities of ChatGPT and Codex. The new system can work with the user's files, documents and various applications, as well as perform multi-step tasks independently, reducing manual work.
OpenAI states that the availability of GPT-5.6 models and ChatGPT Work will be implemented in phases, on different platforms and for different user subscriptions.
