SaaS Platform Development
Multi-tenant cloud products with subscriptions, billing and growth metrics you can actually read.
A SaaS product is not an ordinary application. It serves many companies at once, charges money by itself every month, and survives only if users come back the month after. CodeOrigins has been building products like this since 2022, from tenancy architecture through billing to the retention metrics that decide whether the business works.
We start from an MVP: the smallest set of features somebody will actually pay for. The first paid version typically ships in 10–14 weeks, and everything after that is built against real usage data instead of a roadmap written before launch.
Multi-tenant architecture
The most consequential early decision is data isolation. We offer two approaches: a shared database with a tenant identifier on every row, or a separate database per customer. The first is cheaper to operate and suits thousands of small accounts. The second is what enterprise buyers ask for when physical separation of data is a procurement requirement. We make that choice against your target market, because changing it a year in means a full migration under load, with real customers watching.
Subscriptions and billing
Billing is far more than a payment button. We build pricing plans with monthly and annual cycles, free trials, plan upgrades and downgrades, and proration for unused days. We integrate Stripe Billing or Paddle for recurring charges, invoice delivery and tax handling. Particular attention goes to failed payments: we configure the retry sequence and customer notifications, because involuntary churn from expired cards quietly removes a meaningful share of recurring revenue in almost every product we audit.
Onboarding and activation
Most users leave in the first seven days, not because of price but because of confusion. We design the onboarding flow from signup to first real result in as few steps as possible. We add demo data, a step-by-step guide, a progress indicator and the ability to invite teammates early. Behavioural emails are triggered by lack of action rather than by a fixed schedule. Conversion at each step is measured, so it is obvious where people drop out instead of being a matter of opinion.
Analytics, retention and churn
SaaS health is not measured in signups. It is measured in MRR, activation rate and churn. We build an internal dashboard showing daily revenue, new and lost subscribers, plan distribution and how often each feature is actually used. We connect product analytics and add alerts for accounts whose activity has dropped sharply, because those are the accounts that cancel next month. That data lets you build the roadmap on numbers rather than on the loudest customer request.
How we work
Product definition
We set the boundaries of the MVP, the pricing model and the core use case, cutting everything that can wait.
Architecture and design
We choose the tenancy model, design the data model and build the interface prototype in Figma.
MVP development
We build core functionality, subscriptions and billing in two-week iterations with working demos.
Launch and iterate
We onboard the first paying users, measure activation and churn, and develop against what the data shows.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is multi-tenancy and why does it matter?
It is the architecture where one instance of an application serves many customers while isolating their data. It matters because the model you pick determines operating cost, security posture and how far you can scale, and changing it a year later means a full migration.
How long does SaaS development take?
A first paid version takes 10–14 weeks including subscriptions and billing. A complete product runs five to eight months. We recommend launching an MVP and developing against real user behaviour rather than building every planned feature before anyone has paid.
How do you handle recurring payments?
We integrate Stripe Billing or Paddle for automatic monthly and annual charges, trials, plan changes and proration. We separately configure the failed-payment retry sequence and customer notifications, which is where most products silently lose recurring revenue.
Can you take over an existing SaaS?
Yes. We start with a technical audit covering architecture, tenant isolation, security and performance bottlenecks. We then propose a plan with prioritised fixes and development phases that can be executed without taking the service offline for your existing customers.
How do you measure churn?
We build an internal dashboard showing MRR, new and lost subscribers, activation rate and feature usage daily. We add alerts for accounts whose activity has fallen sharply, so your team can intervene before the cancellation rather than read about it in a monthly report.
Where is the product hosted?
We deploy with Docker on AWS, DigitalOcean or Hetzner, chosen to match where your customers are. Automated backups, monitoring and CI/CD are configured from the start so new versions ship without downtime or manual server work.
