Both let you build iOS and Android apps from one codebase, and both are a good choice for most business apps. React Native fits better when you also have a JavaScript website or want it to be easier to find developers. Flutter fits better when the app has many complex animations and you want exactly the same look on every device.
| Criterion | React Native | Flutter |
|---|---|---|
| Language | JavaScript / TypeScript | Dart |
| Finding developers | Easier | Fewer specialists |
| Link to a website | Part of the code and knowledge can be shared | A separate technology |
| Interface look | Uses the platform's native elements | Draws everything itself, looks the same everywhere |
| Animations | Good | Very good |
| Performance | Enough for business apps | Slightly higher in complex interfaces |
When to choose React Native
- You have or plan a JavaScript website.
- It matters that developers are easy to find later.
- It is a business app: orders, accounting, chat.
When to choose Flutter
- The design is very custom and must look the same everywhere.
- There are many animations and complex screens.
From our experience
We built our mobile projects ProMobile and BonPharm with React Native. We also work with Flutter and choose based on the project's needs.
